Simrad RS 86/87 DSC VHF Radio
The new RS80 series of dVHF radios offers the widest choice of
options of any radio!
The Simrad dVHF system is a major step forward in VHF radio
design! The flexibility of the system means it can be installed in all types of
leisure boats as well as many commercial vessels.
Whether you choose between the RS87 fully functioned handset, or
the RS86 dedicated control panel, installation could not be easier. With the
advanced boat communication system option installed, you have the ability to
talk to any, or all, of the control stations or intercom speakers.
Dual horn loudspeakers may be fitted for use as a loudhailer
with listen-back. When used as a foghorn, the RS86/87 can be used manually for

Easy to use DSC
Full class "D" DSC features are available with both versions.
The distress and all ship call buttons are protected from inadvertent operation
by a spring loaded cover. Individual ship and group calls can be conveniently
made from the keypad, using either the internal directory or by direct entry of
the MMSI number.
In countries offering the facility, it is possible to make
direct dialed telephone calls. Extra large bright STLCD (super twist) display,
easily read from all angles, back lit for night operation.
In an emergency...
- lift the cover and press the distress key to send a DSC
"Mayday" message that includes the nature of distress and your
position.
Advanced boat communication system - with flexible
solutions
With a fully expanded system, you can talk to any, or all, of
the hand sets or intercom speakers. The intercom speakers feature call buttons
to alert the handset users.
Full fog and loudhailer function
It is possible to select either or both of the hailer speakers
to call those working on deck. The loudhailer also offers a listen back feature.
For ease of use, a dedicated foghorn button may be connected to the transceiver
unit and conveniently placed close to the steering position.
Simrad iDSC - puts the DSC information on your Simrad navigation
center
When linked to any of the Simrad 44 or 54 series units, the iDSC
transfers the DSC messages directly onto the screen. These messages can be
directly acknowledged from the chartplotter, silencing the alarm and
automatically selecting the correct radio channel.
